Chick-fil-A

I love the ease of fast food, but I hate what eating fast food can do to your waist size. As I have scaled back most of the fast food runs, one place that is staying in my rotation is Chick-fil-A.

I wanted to share a few tips and tricks for you to make the best possible choices when you go.

Breakfast:

There are two excellent entre choices on the breakfast menu that are healthy and delicious.

Egg White Grill – grilled chicken breast on English muffin with egg whites and a slice of cheese. If you want to up your healthy game, ask them to skip the cheese.

Breakfast Burrito – I order this item with two modifications that make it healthy. First, I get grilled chicken instead of the standard fried chicken. Second, I get it with egg whites instead of the scrambled eggs. If you want to up your game, the third modification is asking them to leave out either the cheese or hash browns, but I leave those two things in.

If you want to combo up your meal, pick the fruit salad over the hashbrowns and remember not to drink a bunch of calories.

Lunch or Dinner

This one is easy for me: grilled chicken sandwich (not the one with bacon), bowl of chicken soup, and a large Diet Coke. Fruit salad is another good option.

Be sure to scout out the nutritional values of the different sauce options. There are good choice and bad choices, don’t assume they are all close to equal. Here is a link to their nutritional information.

I also always say don’t drink your calories, so for me I get a Diet Coke, my wife loves the Diet Lemonade. Both pass the calories test.

Get the app, join the rewards program and earn free meals. Chick-fil-A is a sponsor of my USF teams, and for example, I discovered last year if you opened the app while at the football games you got a free entre good during the upcoming week.
